Synopsis: “Rain – Scenes in AR” will be an Augmented Reality app for smartphone. The scenes, with sound and motion can be navigated by viewers as though moving around a real space and circulating around life size people. There are different independent scenes capturing a snapshot of the life of the city of Vancouver. Each scene includes 1 to 3 protagonists. The unifying theme is that all the scenes happen in the rain, some of the poses reflect the fact people are outside in rain - wearing jacket, etc.
Overview of Scenes: Most scenes depict 2 characters interacting - 2 men arguing, man and woman walking, man has who has slipped on the wet sidewalk, etc.
Process: Each actor will pose for the creation of a 3D scan - a photorealistic 3D digital model of them. 1 to 3 characters appear in each scene. Actors will have their likeness captured in the round with a 3D scanner and ipad - to create a photo accurate 3D scan of them. Scanning is a fast process where actors will need to hold the pose and facial expression for about 1 to 2 minutes while the photographer moves around them with a 3d scanner attached to an ipad. Still photos of actors will also be taken
Actors: Male and female 18 to 60 years old approx
